Job description

Position Status: Regular, Full-Time, Exempt    

Reports To: the President of Heat XC 

Location: Remote (Merrimack, NH) (Requisite quarterly travel to CA) 

Compensation Range: $140,000-$170,000 per year   

Position Overview:  

Join us as an Applications/Mechanical Design Engineer at Heat XC and dive into the dynamic world of thermal systems and fluid dynamics! You can help craft ingenious solutions to elevate our products' performance to new heights. From conceptualization to hands-on engineering, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, collaborating closely with our engineering team. You will be responsible for designing and integrating a unique heat source into currently available products.

Primary Duties/ Responsibilities:  

  • Innovative Design Focus: 
    • Design and develop mechanical components and systems with an understanding of thermal systems and fluid dynamics. 
  • ​​​​​​​Collaboration: 
    • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Work with multidisciplined teams to ensure functional designs that meet performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements. 
    • Collaborate with the Engineering team to implement new technology into existing commercial products. 
  • Technical Expertise:  
    • ​​​​​​​Prototype, test, and validate designs to ensure they meet quality and performance standards. 
    • ​​​​​​​Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test plans. 
  • Problem-Solving:
    • ​​​​​​​​​​​​Provide technical support to the engineering team.
    • Conduct simulations and analysis to optimize thermal performance and fluid flow. 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES - REQUIRED  

  • Must be a United States citizen. 

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance. This includes undergoing a thorough background check and meeting the necessary criteria for security clearance approval as stipulated by US government regulations. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Master’s degree is a plus. 

  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with a focus on thermal systems and fluid dynamics. 

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD). 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES – PREFERRED  

  • Experience with thermal and fluid flow simulation software. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Self-starter ability to work independently Excellent communicator. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
