Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Employee Relations Sr. Consultant to join our team! As an Employee Relations Senior Consultant, you will be a key member of our centralized employee relations and compliance team. Your responsibilities will encompass handling sensitive and complex EEO and employee relations investigations, as well as addressing ethics matters. You'll engage with the Human Resources department and business leaders to provide guidance on conduct, workplace accommodations, and employee performance. Your role is crucial in ensuring a fair, equitable and consistent approach across the organization. You will have the opportunity to bring your expertise to the team and inform & impact our programs, processes, and development of the function. This position reports to the Director, Employee Relations & Compliance.

Our Chantilly, VA office is the ideal location for the position, but for the right candidate, hybrid and remote work options are available.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Utilize thorough and in-depth knowledge to consult with business leaders on employee behavior and performance issues, providing guidance and assistance in developing feedback and corrective actions that align with our company's practices.
  • Conduct investigations, involving fact-gathering, analysis, and the application of relevant laws, policies, and past practices to make recommendations and influence management actions.
  • Interpret and apply your deep understanding of corporate policies, employment law, and regulations to provide advice, guidance, and clarification for employee relations and performance inquiries.
  • Collaborate with other human resources leaders and extended employee relations team on matters that may establish precedents or necessitate legal counsel.
  • Develop, track, and maintain necessary documentation, including intake and investigative notes, supporting documents, disciplinary memos, and investigative summaries.
  • Partner with business leaders, human resources, and management to support organizational change efforts and reductions in force, ensuring complete and compliant documentation.
  • Collaborate with the employee relations and compliance team and talent leaders to review and analyze business data, identifying trends and recommending improvements to enhance business efficiency and performance.
  • ​Collaborate closely with the Director, Employee Relations & Compliance to lead the team of investigators, develop and implement mitigation strategies, including outreach, education, training and policy and process changes.
  • Interpret and apply understanding of corporate policies and practices, employment law, and other regulations to provide advice, guidance, or clarification for employee relations and performance inquiries.
  • Participate in special Human Resources Operations and Program Management projects/programs as required.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Four-year degree in Business Administration, Psychology, or Human Resources (or related field)
  • ​15+ years of demonstrated relevant functional experience.
  • Deep experience in employee relations and governmental compliance programs

  • PHR/SPHR desired
  • Deep understanding of employee relations and current employment and federal/ state/local labor laws and regulations.
  • Ability to interact with inside and outside counsel to effectively identify and address employment and compliance related issues.
  • Proven ability to deliver results and maintain a high level of service satisfaction in a fast-paced, agile business environment.
  • Confident and effective coaching of business leaders on employee relations and ethics-related matters.
  • Successful handling of inquiries or complaints from employees of all levels, with the ability to ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance and federal/state/local labor laws, and ability to interpret regulations and policies.
  • Ability to develop and leverage relationships throughout the organization to influence individuals, leaders, and outcomes with integrity and objectivity.
  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion, with ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to leverage communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to successfully establish and maintain professional relationships and work effectively with all levels of management.
  • Strong strategic problem solving of complex issues; root/cause analysis skills; ability to research, consolidate data and formulate observations/recommendations and maintain confidentiality.
  • Utilize conflict management, consultative, and analytical skills to resolve problems through innovative and optimized talent solutions.
  • Thorough knowledge of Human Resources policies, procedures, compliance, and practices, with experience in developing, executing, and maintaining HR projects and programs.

Salary Range: 

$104,200.00 - $182,400.00
