You will be based at our development center in Liljeholmen, Stockholm. We offer a flexible work environment where employees spend a couple of days each week in the office and the rest working remotely. As we collaborate with international partners, this role occasionally requires flexibility to attend meetings outside of standard working hours, and once you are up to speed you will also be expected to participate in our on-call rotation.
What you will do as our Backend Developer
As our new Backend Developer, you’ll join a talented team of seven software engineers working on our mobile wallet initiative, enabling smartphone-based hotel door access. Working closely with tech giants like Apple and Google, as well as hotel brands like Hyatt and Marriott, our team shapes the industry’s future through technology shifts, continuous collaboration, and direct influence over product development. You will be part of our cross-functional team building cloud-based services in a DevSecOps style with a goal of achieving full automation in the development lifecycle, from code commit to production deployment. You will be involved in all parts of the application lifecycle, from application design to implementation of new features.
You would also:
- Participate in all application lifecycle stages: feature design, implementation, CI/CD setup, and deployment automation.
- Monitor application health, performance, and security, ensuring robust, scalable solutions.
- Collaborate on solution architecture with internal and external teams, partners, and integrators.
The skills and experience you need
We are looking for someone who:
- has 5+ years of experience in a cross-functional team, building and running robust cloud applications.
- has experience designing and implementing solutions based on modern AWS services.
- has a good knowledge of, or a strong desire to learn Kotlin.
- is proficient in English, Swedish is a plus.
- has experience with frontend development, CQRS and Event Sourcing, and familiarity with agile software development methodologies are advantageous.
The ideal candidate enjoys partnerships, thrives in collaborative settings, and values the exchange of ideas and experiences for continuous growth. With a solid understanding of cloud-based software development, they are proactive in keeping up with the latest technologies, architectural best practices, and security standards. Knowledge of infrastructure and deployment automation tools (e.g., AWS CDK) and monitoring tools like Datadog is beneficial.
