Senior Tracking and Matchmove Artist

This position is based in Vancouver. All applicants must reside in British Columbia/Ontario if applying within Canada or in the United States.

Zoic Studios is currently seeking an Senior Tracking and Matchmove Artist to join our Camera Department.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of object tracking, camera tracking and matchmove (body tracking). Must be familiar with television turn-around schedule and work well in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Senior level 3D camera reconstruction and high level matchmove work
  • Comfortable completing manual camera tracks and matchmoves in Maya
  • Utilize object solves to increase quality and speed
  • Shot sculpting matchmove work/creating geo to matchmove
  • Able to address creative feedback regarding matchmove work
  • Stitch camera in Maya to deal with difficult tasks/merged plates
  • Utilize assets like lidar/photogrammetry to create consistent solves
  • Work in nuke to preprep footage and prepare/render distortion plates
  • Manage time in a television schedule
  • Ingest/QC work from outsource vendors
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Help junior and intermediate artists with issues occasionally
  • Notify leads of any concern with workload/timelines
  • Help provide feedback for tools/development

Qualifications, Skills and Software Required

  • •    6+ years of production experience in a Tracking/Matchmove role
    •    Experience in layout is a plus
    •    Must be proficient in body matchmove and shot sculpting
    •    Proficiency 3D Equalizer and Maya
    •    Syntheyes knowledge is a plus
    •    Proficient in Nuke
    •    Knowledge of shotgun
    •    Photogrammetry/lidar skills a plus
    •    Lens grid solving is a plus
    •    Experience working with little to no set data
    •    Work well in team environment
    •    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Additional information

  • British Columbia Employees Pay Range: $45 - $55 (The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position)
  • This position is based in Vancouver. All applicants must reside in British Columbia/Ontario if applying within Canada or in the United States.
  • Zoic does not cover relocation costs.
  • Any and all remote positions require the candidate to have a reliable internet connection via ethernet and work on Pacific Standard Time.
