ABOUT THE POSITION

Location: This is a Hybrid role (2-3 days in office each week) in Houston, TX.

In this role you will work hand in hand with really smart and experienced development engineers and product managers. You will be planning and ensuring your product development program stays on track and on budget. You will be exposed to the Executive Leadership when presenting the status of your programs and proposing trade-offs for course correction.

As a program manager, you’ll analyze your programs with a broad view of the activities being developed by different cross-functional teams. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that milestones in you program are agreed and understood by the team members assigned to your program by their functional leads, in order to guarantee program execution and new product/feature delivery.

You can think of yourself as a “meta-project manager,” strategically and simultaneously orchestrating all program’s intertwined projects being developed by different teams resulting in a deliverable product to our customers.

Typical day-to-day program management activities include:

· Planning and monitoring program execution.

· Project coordination and managing project interdependencies.

· Creating and managing a budget.

· Cross-project resource management.

· Identifying and addressing blockers and risks.

· Program documentation.

· Stakeholder communications, negotiations, and problem-solving.

· Aligning or realigning deliverables with program outcomes.

What does the ideal candidate bring to Fluence?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in program or project management, preferably in the energy industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex programs on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of program management methodologies and tools (Agile).
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results oriented.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in business presentation preparation and analytics tools expertise (Excel).
  • PMI certification or proven track record of best practices in program management for product development desired
  • Experience with Power Conversion Systems (inverters) within the Renewable Energy or EV industries desired
  • Exposed to Agile and cross knowledge of Jira/Atlassian, NetSuite, Salesforce, MS Project desired
