The Mgr, Imaging Services manages the Center's activities and resources to ensure alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of the practice. Reports to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging.

Responsibilities:

A day in the life of a Manager, Imaging Services at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Oversees a multi-modality imaging center with the following, but not limited to modalities of radiography, nuclear, ultrasound, MRI, PET-CT, CT, mammography, X-ray, and DEXA. Responsible for the performance of these services through the management of employees, identification of and response to changing market conditions, and by ensuring compliance with accrediting and regulatory requirements. Monitors and enforces radiation safety compliance measures.
  • Develops and implements center goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the practice and the partnership.
  • Manages and evaluates center operations, including care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates center budgets, and ensures that the center operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
  • Leads a team of one or more center Supervisors. Mentors and coaches those supervisors in areas of excellence with the goal of building self-sufficient leaders.
  • Prepares, implements, and manages all department policies and procedures and ensures their compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Actively participates in discussion with vendors and manufacturers.
  • Gains in-depth knowledge of the outpatient radiology industry, its services, and the local competition within a specific market.
  • Identifies methods to continuously improve processes and increase patient satisfaction efficiently with employee engagement.
  • Develops/implements marketing plan and tracks referrals.
  • Develops strong relationships with referring physicians, attorneys, paralegals, and insurance adjusters to promote the center's imaging services.
  • Serves as the liaison with referring physician offices to strengthen relationships by making office visits, taking calls, resolving physician office and patient related service issues.
  • Recommends and seeks out new business opportunities.
  • Provides monthly and quarterly reports outlining referring trends, market analyses, successes.
  • Responsible for successfully meeting or exceeding volume/revenue goals by increasing the referral bases, patient volumes, and collections of the center.
  • Takes calculated risks to increase profitability and brand recognition.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or minimum 8 years experience leading a Radiology Department.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant imaging experience to include management of personnel, budgets, and physician relations.
  • Within the scope of the job, it requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Master's degree preferred.
