As a Divisional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the sales efforts within a specific division, delivering growth and achieving sales targets. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies, building strong relationships with wholesalers, financial professionals and centers of influence while ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives set by the VP of Brokerage Annuity Distribution.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Team Building: Identify and hire a team of wholesalers to deliver financial service products through partner firms in the region.
Sales Leadership: Drive profitable sales growth through consistent coaching and development of each wholesaler.
Strategic Collaboration: Work with the sales team, leadership and internal partners to implement, execute, and oversee new sales and distribution strategies.
Business Planning: Ensure wholesalers focus on comprehensive business plans, including sales goals, calendars, budgets, and scorecards.
Data and Digital Strategy: Utilize data insights, analytics and technology tools to inform strategy and drive sales results across the team.
Partnership Expansion: Collaborate with internal and external business partners to expand distribution partnerships, grow sales, and retain business.
Operational Input: Provide input on territory structure, wholesaler compensation, internal sales support, and advisor communication.
Compliance Leadership: Foster a culture of compliance and ensure adherence to all company policies.
Diversity and Inclusion: Champion diversity and inclusion within the team.
Oversight Responsibilities: Manage compliance and principal oversight responsibilities.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Vice President, Brokerage Annuity Distribution
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred; advanced degree preferred.
Experience: 7 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on annuity sales preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proven track record of success in a sales leadership role. Strong understanding of the annuity market and regulatory environment. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to think strategically and execute tactically. Competent in sales leadership, business development, relationship management, team development, operational efficiency, compliance and risk management.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resource Business Partner.
