Job Description
Technology is seeking a Senior Risk Manager to oversee and manage the Business Line Control Environment (BLCE) and Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) programs for the Technology Business Area (BA). This role will be critical to ensuring a sound, well-designed control environment, and in assuring the top operational risks within the Technology BA are adequately mitigated.
This role will provide oversight of control development and documentation change related activities executed by Technology process owners, Risk/Compliance/Audit (RCA) managers, and other individuals to ensure strong change management practices and compliance with the Company’s BLCE Policy. This role and team will additionally serve as the controls center of excellence for the Technology BA. They will also be responsible for identifying potential control gaps within the control environment and initiating remediation action.
In addition to controls management, this leader will be responsible for facilitating activities related to the Company’s RCSA program, in accordance with the RCSA Policy. Such activities include managing RCSA workshops to identify top risks and the mitigating controls, managing risk record data quality, and responding to credible challenges from other oversight parties related to RCSA.
This leader will additionally be responsible for other activities related to BLCE and RCSA, such as assessing the impact of technology changes on the control environment, managing supporting tools and systems, and more.
Responsibilities include:
- Establish and maintain processes related to the BLCE and the RCSA programs for the Technology BA.
- Provide control consultation and advice to Technology business leaders, RCA Managers, and other stakeholders.
- Manage processes to execute assessments designed to proactively identify control gaps within the Technology environment.
- Maintain and advance processes designed to identify the impact of changes to technology on the control environment.
- Oversee and advance processes related to control change management in alignment with BLCE Policy.
- Manage tools related to facilitating control changes and logging and assessing risk related findings.
- Facilitate the RCSA workshop process, along with other RCSA related routines required by policy.
- Manage the structure of assessable units used to articulate the risk and control environment for the Technology BA.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically, more than 12 years of applicable experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Considerable understanding of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business
- Considerable understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
- Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
- Strong leadership and management skills of processes, projects and people
- Effective skills at managing stressful situations
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills
Location Expectations
The role is posted as remote; however, candidates who are located near any one of our locations would be required to work on site at least three days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $139,740.00 - $164,400.00 - $180,840.00
