We are seeking a detail-oriented Analyst specializing in variable compensation to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing compensation plans for sales teams. Their primary focus is on variable compensation, which is the portion of a salesperson's pay that fluctuates based on performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that compensation strategies align with organizational objectives and industry benchmarks.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Program Design & Management:

  • Develop and implement variable compensation plans, including commission structures, bonuses, and incentive programs.
  • Assess and enhance existing compensation programs to ensure competitiveness and alignment with business goals.

Data Analysis:

  • Analyze compensation data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for variable pay adjustments.
  • Prepare detailed reports and dashboards depicting compensation trends and program performance metrics.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with finance, sales, and operational teams to gather data and feedback on compensation effectiveness.
  • Provide analytical support for compensation audits and reviews.

Compliance & Best Practices:

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding compensation practices.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in variable compensation.

Training & Communication:

  • Develop training materials and educate stakeholders on variable compensation programs.
  • Communicate compensation structures and changes to employees effectively.

Compensation Structure:

  • Understanding of base salary vs. variable pay ratios
  • Familiarity with different commission structures (e.g., tiered, flat rate)
  • Knowledge of pay mix optimization (e.g., 60/40 or 70/30 base-to-variable ratios)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 experience in compensation analysis, specifically focused on variable compensation.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools (e.g., Excel (can perform complex functions) , Power BI, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with advanced data analytics and visualization tools.
