Job description

Staff Software Engineer - Web Platform | Remote | Permanent

Job Responsibilities

Engage in the development, planning, architecture, and design of both client-facing and internal web applications, prioritizing performance, usability, and accessibility.
Work across a wide array of technologies with an emphasis on web and frontend development, contributing to all layers of the stack and platform.
Collaborate with fellow engineers, product managers, designers, and other teams within a remote-first organization.
Participate in projects from the requirements phase through to production, assisting in shaping the roadmap alongside the team's Technical Lead and stakeholders.
Elevate engineering standards, testing practices, and documentation, while mentoring and sharing insights with the team.

Qualifications

Possess 8-12 years of experience in frontend development with contemporary technologies. Our stack includes TypeScript, React, Remix, and Tailwind, though relevant expertise is equally valued.
Proficient in navigating a full stack environment, encompassing frontend, backend, database, and infrastructure. Our backend stack features C#, GraphQL, SQL Server, and Cosmos DB, hosted on Azure.
Skilled in debugging and diagnosing issues within complex systems across the stack.
Strong understanding of application and system design, with the capability to contribute to infrastructure, devops, and backend APIs when needed.
Empathetic towards application users, with a focus on creating user-centric experiences.
Comfortable working in a highly collaborative setting, balancing discussion and documentation of ideas with their implementation.
Utilize Windows and WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) as the primary development environment. This is a strict requirement for this position.

Additional Requirements

Must be eligible to work in the United States – no exceptions.
Although the role is fully remote, candidates must be willing to travel to New York City 2 to 4 times annually.
While hiring is nationwide, the individual in this role should anticipate significant overlap with Eastern Standard Time (EST).
