POSITION TITLE: Government Business Development Executive

POSITION SUMMARY. The Government Business Development Executive’s (GBDE) primary responsibility is growth of the government line of business. The incumbent will be responsible for creating new customer spend and footprint focused on MediQuant’s Government Division. Candidate must be able to operate in an entrepreneurial environment, develop and implement growth in existing and new markets, drive to improve MediQuant’s market position, achieve financial growth, and create long term value for the organization. The GBDE will develop and capture new federal government business using existing contract vehicles and set-asides as well as partnerships. With excellent communication skills, a growth mindset, and proven experience selling technology solutions into the Public Sector, the GBDE will make a significant impact on MediQuant’s Government business and manage to annual aggressive growth quotas.

- Develop and leverage our current success with DHA to expand the pipeline of new business for our Government Business unit coming into MediQuant (*)
- Identify potential new customers, develop rapport, set targets for sales, and provide support to continually improve relationship with both potential customers and partners.
- Build and deliver account plans, including timeline, deliverables, and goals.
- Submit weekly progress reports to direct supervisor and record activity on accounts to close deals to meet targets.
- Track all activity in Sales Force including but not limited to Blue Sheets, contacts, contact information, opportunities, and tasks.
- Participate in industry events that highlight MediQuant’s service capabilities.
- Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
- Collaborate with Direct Supervisor to determine coverage and tracking process for conference deliverables.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of MediQuant’s solutions, capabilities, and business objectives to design differentiated growth strategies, as well as influence future capability development efforts.
- Leverage knowledge to develop customer and partner engagement plans and provide leadership with recommendations in the marketplace.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect MediQuant’s IP during all engagements and contracting initiatives.
- Develop strong relationships with current US federal customers, connect with key business executives and stakeholders, and establish and grow relationships with new customers.
- Collaborate with MediQuant’s cross functional teams to facilitate the sales cycle from lead generation through close.
- Participate in sales presentations, opportunity qualification, proposal development, and pricing negotiations.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, Marketing, Business or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of experiences leading business development organizations successfully in federal government contracting
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills
- Experienced in federal government contract sales lifecycle and knowledge on GWACs
- Strong relationship with small and large system integrators in the federal government contracting area
- Experienced in federal government IT professional services needs, target agency decision makers, and departmental forecast for IT needs
- Must possess advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Planning and organization, project management, and time management skills
- Ability to work on complex problems and use advanced critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of Company products, markets and technology
- Strong analytical and financial skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance for Common Access Card
- Proven track record of Closing new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations
- Must have the ability to travel
Work Environment. This job operates in a blend of professional office and home office environments. Incumbent will use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods of time, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work. This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel. Travel is required. Candidate may travel up to 50% of the time, regularly experiencing out-of-area and overnight travel. Regular travel to Washington DC and surrounding areas.
