Job Description:

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Network Engineer Advisor you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on Network Engineer Advisor joining our team to design, plan and build communications networks. Configure routers, switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols. Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements. Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies. Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process. Plans implementation of enhancements.

HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● Responsible for the design and development of voice, video, and/or data communications networks

● Collaborating with ENS peers to solve complex network assignments

● Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks

● Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, switches, DNS and DHCP

● Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security

● Provides advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex network problems

● Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases

● Develops network architecture and network design documentation

● Provide mentoring to staff within the ENS group

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
● Required Experience: 8+ years of related experience
● Required Technical Skills: Routing/Switching, BGP/OSPF, VPNs, Firewalls, Tunnels, DNS, DHCP
● Required Skills and Abilities: Understanding of network monitoring tools and their operation
● Preferred Skills: JUNOS, Silver Peak SDWAN, Aruba Wireless
● Location: Remote

The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
