As a Solution Architect, you support a rapidly growing federal program with enterprise modernization/transformation as the key focus and manage a complex variety of customers and business lines. In this role, you will have responsibility for coordinating activities across both technical and programmatic areas of a large modernization program for overall delivery success. To be successful, you will have a strong grasp of the enterprise delivery big picture anchored with the ability to understand customer’s business drivers, objectives, and goals while being familiar with the overall ecosystem required inclusive of people, process, and technical approaches to meet the customers’ requirements. Candidates in the DC Metro area are preferred.

  • Architect and implement AI and ML solutions that directly support business objectives, focusing on improving operational efficiencies and achieving customer outcomes.
  • Build and test prototypes with machine learning models or AI algorithms to showcase their practical impact on customer requirements and solution viability.
  • Identify and leverage AI and ML opportunities within existing and new solutions to improve overall functionality, user experience, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Assess model performance, accuracy, and scalability through rigorous testing and recommend adjustments or optimizations based on data-driven insights.
  • Conduct business and technical discovery with customers; find novel solutions, architectures and use cases to help customers meet their objectives
  • Provide robust recommendations for engagements while also identifying critical dependencies and gaps.
  • Present proposals to senior government officials in a clear and compelling way; have a balance of business and technology acumen, including ability to articulate high- level technical solutions to business problems and to tie solutions to program success criteria.
  • Design highly complex solutions with multiple applications with high transaction volumes.
  • Serve as the technical and technology expert supporting the crafting of the application architecture aspects of the solution, as well as supporting the implementation of the solution.
  • Review proposed enhancements to validate feasibility and assists with scoping and estimating work.
  • Develop process improvements to achieve cost effectiveness and time saving.
  • Make critical business decisions to meet customer expectations.

Required:

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other IT degree. Engineering, math, and/or science degrees are acceptable substitute degrees.
  • 15+ years of overall working experience in an IT software/platform development and/or operations environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a collaborative team through the development, integration, and testing process and executing Agile and Continuous Delivery platform/development best practices.
  • Extensive demonstrated hands-on experience with a variety of architectures, tools, and languages.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and employ instrumentation that promotes efficiency in the environment such as application up-time, automated testing, and feedback to developers on the quality of code changes.
  • Briefed senior leaders and key stakeholders, coordinated cross functionally with other teams and end users.
  • Experienced in managing, configuring, tuning, or deploying web applications in a cloud environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with problem-solving in an IT operations environment.
  • Complete understanding of AWS web application deployment.
  • Complete understanding of cloud monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, and CloudWatch.
  • Reasonable understanding of networking, security, and internet protocols.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, with the ability to produce and analyze data to communicate status and successes.
  • Superior communication skills working on issues and solutions to non-technical audiences (both verbal and written). In addition, collaboration and coordination will be key capabilities in this role.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex tasks, effectively using available resources, as needed, with minimal guidance.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment and coordinating with development teams.
  • The ability to successfully obtain and maintain a U.S. Suitability/Public Trust Background Clearance.
  • Relevant AWS/Java/.NET certifications
  • Experience supporting federal contracts
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing, with AWS preferred
  • Experienced under an ITIL v3 Service Operation framework, with ITIL v3 Foundations certification preferred, especially within an Agile program
  • Experience with one or more of the following ITSM tools: ServiceNow, Jira, Splunk, Nagios, Solar Winds
  • Experience with disaster recovery scenarios
  • Highly prefer candidates in the DC Metro area.

In accordance with pay transparency guidelines, the proposed salary range for this position is $98,698 to $126,897. Final salary will be determined based on various factors such as relevant skills, experience and certifications.
