Job description

Title: Revenue Cycle Support
Location: USA/Remote
Reports to: Revenue Cycle Manager
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Full-Time or Part-Time: Full-Time
Salary Range: $18 - $24
*Starting pay varies based on location and experience, in compliance with specific state wage regulations. Competitive rates tailored to your geography and expertise.

Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Revenue Cycle Manager, the Revenue Cycle Support is responsible for the follow-up on unpaid primary and secondary claims, claim denials, underpaid, and overpaid claims in accordance with established guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Claim Management:

    • Execute follow-up on claims per MMGS and carrier protocols.
    • Identify the root causes of claim denials and underpayments; process appeals in accordance with carrier policies.
    • Identify denial, underpayment, or other unpaid claim trends or patterns; report these trends and patterns to the Revenue Cycle Specialist.
  • Financial Transactions and Transfers:

    • Perform balance and pending patient transfers and other related tasks.
    • Assist with customer contact as overflow from the Patient Service Center.
    • Maintain an accounting of daily activities.
    • Document notes in the billing system according to protocols, ensuring adequate detail and clarity.
  • Performance and Quality Control:

    • Maintain a production rate of 40 claims per day for anesthesia claims and 35 claims per day for pain claims.
    • Maintain an accuracy rate of 95% on follow-up per audit guidelines.
    • Seek first-time resolution on each claim.
  • Other Responsibilities:

    • Perform any other duties as deemed necessary by the Revenue Cycle Manager or other management.
    • Participate in team activities and contribute to the overall improvement of services to Coronis Health’s clients.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of medical billing, including carrier reimbursement policies and appeal procedures.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and related legal and ethical considerations regarding patient information.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; one (1) year of experience in medical billing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in MMGS billing system, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet minimum production and accuracy standards.
  • Flexibility to assist in other accounts and areas as needed.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions and written guidelines on account specifics.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, talk, and hear for extended periods; occasionally stand, walk, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach.
  • Frequent use of hands for fingering, grasping, and handling.
  • Ability to read documents in both handwritten and electronic forms.
  • Ability to lift or carry objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
