The Red Hat OpenShift team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer or to join us in the Brno, Czech Republic. This engineer will support the creation and maintenance of existing releases of the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, our Kubernetes distribution. This engineer will need to work with the support organization and with engineering teams across the product to identify, prioritize, and implement updates to existing and upcoming releases to resolve customer issues. This engineer will also work proactively with the open source Kubernetes community to implement fixes in our software which were corrected in the community.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and implement networking solutions for Red Hat's next-generation platforms, including Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.
- Become responsible for our product quality, participate in peer code reviews, continuous integration and delivery, respond to security threats
- Participate in, lead, and create upstream networking project communities, including contributing new development work and existing features and fixes for projects like Kubernetes
- Use your deep networking expertise to help customers solve complex business problems with creative solutions
What you will bring
- Significant software development experience and experience using Go language
- Experience with Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift and container networking technologies
- Knowledge of network switching and routing protocols
- Understanding of how Open Source and Free Software communities work
- Experience with network functions virtualization (NFV) and software-defined networking (SDN) is a plus
- Motivated with a proactive attitude, willingness to tackle new problems, and an ability to develop new architectures and identify good ones
- Ability to work well as part of a team in a highly collaborative, distributed, environment with a diverse team
- Previous contributions to open source projects or being an open source maintainer
