As a Field Service Engineer for Atlas Copco Tools & Industrial Assembly Solutions in the UK, you will support our tooling and joining solutions technologies for our customers across many industry sectors. You will need to have sound mechanical and electrical competence and be able to support and work on software and integration systems with installation, commissioning, and planned maintenance activities.

You will be part of the Service Business Line and support our Industrial Technique business areas:

  • Motor Vehicle Industry (MVI)
  • General Industry (GI)
  • Industrial Assembly Solutions (IAS)

Your Role

  • Perform pre-delivery testing and inspection of tools as appropriate before delivery/site installation.
  • Installation and commissioning of new tooling and industrial assembly solutions at customer locations.
  • Provide support and assistance for project delivery, working closely with Project Managers.
  • System integration and configuration of customer PLC interfaces to Atlas Copco Tool.
  • Test and validation.
  • Problem resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Customer training and operation guidance.
  • Support customer staff in the pilot phases.
  • Determine and undertake all necessary preventative maintenance on all power tool products, Industrial Assembly Solutions products, and software solutions.
  • Manage the calibration, testing, and certification of all Atlas Copco power tool products.
  • Identify and deliver sales opportunities (software/upgrades, optimization) for field service, working closely with our Service Sales Managers.
  • You will ideally be located in the Midlands.
  • You will be field-based covering UK-wide. You will be remote with a dedicated territory.
  • Occasional overnight stays and overtime following customer and our requirements will be expected.
  • You will report directly to the Service Team Manager.

RequiredDesirableQualifications

To succeed, you will need:

  • HNC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Have experience in a Manufacturing Environment

Knowledge

(knowledge, experience & background)

  • Have knowledge of Industrial Power Tools i.e. Pneumatic, Battery and DC, and supporting software.
  • Have knowledge of either a Manufacturing or Customer Service Environment.
  • Network infrastructure knowledge
  • Experience with PLC's and line control systems.
  • Have experience in providing a Service to customers.
  • Atlas Copco software platforms

Approach to the role:

  • Ability to work as an individual and able to work on own initiative.
  • PC literate.
  • Will need to attend on-site work as required and develop within the team
  • You will need a flexible attitude to work and this may require occasional overnight stays, weekend working, and unsociable hours.
  • Can identify alternatives to current thinking; the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to problems.
  • Can promote, develop and maintain a culture conducive to quality throughout the organisation and to improve its performance.

You will require a full UK Driving license, and have the appropriate right to work in the UK.
