Job description

Senior BI Analyst

Prolific

Prolific is not just another player in the AI space – we are the architects of the human data infrastructure that's reshaping the landscape of AI development. In a world where foundational AI technologies are increasingly commoditized, it's the quality and diversity of human-generated data that truly differentiates products and models.

The role

We're looking for a Senior BI Analyst to support transforming Prolific into a truly data-driven organization. Reporting to the VP of Data, Research & Analytics, you'll own company-wide reporting and analytics, establish and track KPIs, and drive data-driven decisions across the organization. You'll be responsible for empowering leadership and our go-to-market, finance, support, and revenue operations teams with the insights they need to make better decisions. This role is crucial in establishing a metrics-driven culture and creating accountability across all teams.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Analytics Expertise: Proficient in SQL and modern BI tools (e.g. Metabase, Looker, Tableau), with proven ability to build scalable reporting solutions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Track record of building strong partnerships across functions and seniority levels.
  • Cross-functional Alignment: Skilled at building cross-functional alignment on metrics and creating shared accountability for outcomes.
  • Business Acumen: Experience working with executive stakeholders and influencing strategic decisions through data.
  • Data Storytelling: Excellence in turning complex analyses into compelling narratives that drive action.
  • Marketplace Understanding: Strong grasp of B2B and two-sided marketplace metrics and economics.
  • Financial Literacy: Ability to connect operational metrics to financial outcomes and support forecasting.
  • Process Design: Experience establishing data governance and metric definition frameworks.
  • Training & Enablement: Skilled at building data literacy and empowering non-technical users.
  • Documentation: Meticulous approach to data accuracy and creating clear, maintainable documentation.

What you’ll be doing in the role

  • Company KPIs: Strengthen and evolve our metrics framework. Drive continuous improvement in how we track, measure, and act on what matters.
  • Executive Reporting: Own board and executive-level reporting, providing insights that drive strategic decision making.
  • Team Performance: Establish and track team-level metrics across the organization, creating accountability and visibility into performance.
  • Financial Partnership: Work closely with Finance to connect operational metrics to financial outcomes and support forecasting.
  • Operational Excellence: Partner with operational teams like RevOps, Support, and Finance to optimize their processes through data.
  • Self-service Analytics: Develop and maintain dashboards and training that enable teams to access insights independently.
  • Analytics Advocacy: Champion data-driven decision making through training, documentation, and best practices.
  • Process Implementation: Establish processes for metric definition, tracking, and reporting to ensure consistency across teams.
  • Analytics Infrastructure: Partner with other analysts and analytics engineering to ensure aligned metrics definitions and efficient data models.
