The M&E Infrastructure specialist/ Operations IT Senior Solution Specialist role serves as a technical escalation focal point for engineering application owners and functional architects. Requires advanced skills in a range of processes, procedures, and systems, and in-depth practical knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
With an understanding of the cross-architecture impact, the specialist executes tasks and activities aligned to the high-level Operations IT/OT strategy along with technology discipline and/or business process multi-generation plans to support optimal capability of engineering tools and related IT solutions.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assists in the resolution of applications’ infrastructure problems
- Support efforts to improve infrastructure to meet organization’s requirements
- Works with Product Managers to test, define, & assess impact of infrastructure changes on new & existing applications
- Escalates infrastructure problems as necessary
- Work with other I/S organizations throughout Dow
- Seek opportunities to enhance and improve the overall end-user experience.
- Coordinates and executes creation and management of job aids, training materials, and metrics related to IT applications and tools and system functionality
Required qualifications and skills.
- Any Engineering degree/degree in Computing Science, Information Technology or other technical disciplines.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting infrastructure (client workstations, networks, servers) in a corporate enterprise environment including
- Experience supporting complex, business critical 2-Tier applications
- Knowledge of hardware (server, network, desktop) as it relates to application performance.
- Experience leading resolution of hardware and software issues across multiple IT support teams (server, storage, network, active directory, backup, security, etc.)
- Must be able to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and understand their value or impact to the organization.
- Manage and prioritize multiple issues or activities.
- Effective Asset management
- Must be able to work independently, within a small team, or with various I/S partners.
- Manage and prioritize multiple issues or activities
- Strong analytical / troubleshooting IT skills
- Must be able to work in a global team environment (lots of remote interaction)
- Enthusiasm to learn new subjects, self-starter
- Effective in knowledge sharing
- Tools knowledge required
