Let’s talk about this role 

As the new Technical Architect – Data Platforms, you will play a crucial position in driving the strategic and operational data needs of nib Group. This role will see you being responsible for architecting, developing, and managing the our cutting-edge data platforms. Some of the tools we use here are Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, Select Star and Immuta!

 

In addition, you will also be tasked in evaluating and incorporating cutting-edge data technologies, maintaining the performance of data platforms and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. You will also mentor the rest of the team and foster an environment of innovation and continuous learning.

Let’s talk about you 

With previous experience in data platform engineering, combined with a proven track record of technical leadership and team management experience, other skills and experience that will set you up for success in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • Comprehensive experience in architecting, building and managing scalable and secure data platforms

  • In-depth technical expertise in modern data technologies, cloud platforms and architectural patterns

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and strong ability to troubleshoot complex issues

  • Strong familiarity with data governance and data security standards

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution of data platform initiatives is highly desirable
