Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This includes overseeing recruitment activities, learning and development, payroll and benefits, policy development, compliance, 401(k) administration, 5500 preparation, wellness programs, and compensation management. The HR Manager will also manage a team of four HR professionals, ensuring their growth and development. Please note that this is not a remote work position and requires the candidate to work on-site at the Irvine, CA location. Additionally, the candidate must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Recruitment:
- Oversight of recruitment activities and recruiting the manager to attract top talent.
- Oversight of the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Collaboration with the recruiting manager and department heads to understand staffing needs and provide guidance on hiring the best practices.
Job Grading and Costing:
- Oversee the development, application, and maintenance of job grading systems to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
- Supervise the job evaluation and salary benchmarking processes using Korn Ferry job grading methodologies.
- Analyze compensation data to determine the cost implications of compensation decisions.
- Collaborate with Korn Ferry consultants to implement and update job grading frameworks.
- Coach Sr. Managers / HR team on job grading and costing processes, providing guidance and support.
- Make appropriate recommendations based on job grading and costing analyses. Working directly with manager and Senior Manager.
- Mentor and coach the HR Team to ensure continuity and knowledge transfer.
- Develop and implement compensation strategies that support the Shimano’s objectives.
- Provide guidance and support to management on compensation-related issues.
- Prepare and present reports on compensation trends and metrics to senior leadership.
Learning and Development:
- Oversee the design and delivery of training programs to enhance employee skills and career development.
- Oversee identifying training needs through performance evaluations and feedback.
- Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of training programs' effectiveness and make necessary improvements.
Payroll and Benefits:
- Oversight of payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries.
- Oversight of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Address employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
- Collaborate with Payroll/ HRIS Manager on payroll/ employee benefit plans.
Policy Development and Compliance:
- Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in compliance with legal requirements.
- Ensure SNAH adheres to all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Multiple jurisdictions.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and address any issues promptly.
401(k) Administration and 5500 Preparation:
- Administer the company's 401(k) plan, including enrollment, contributions, and compliance.
- Prepare and file the annual Form 5500 to meet regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance to employees on retirement planning and benefits.
Employee Relations:
- Managing employee relations issues.
- Conducting investigations and resolving conflicts to maintain a positive work environment.
Wellness Programs:
- Develop and implement wellness programs to promote employee health and well-being.
- Organize wellness activities, workshops, and initiatives to encourage a healthy work-life balance.
- Monitor the effectiveness of wellness programs and make adjustments as needed.
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four HR professionals.
- Assign tasks and projects to team members, ensuring timely and high-quality completion.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to support team members' growth.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging open communication and teamwork.
- Identify and address any skill gaps within the team, providing opportunities for professional development and training.
- Set clear performance goals and expectations, and monitor team progress towards achieving them.
- Recognize team achievements and contributions to maintain high morale and motivation.
Job Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 10-12 years of experience in human resources, with at least 6 years in a managerial role. Experience in overseeing recruitment, learning and development, payroll and benefits, policy development, compliance, 401(k) administration, wellness programs, and compensation management is essential.
- Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems, as well as a solid understanding of employment laws and regulations, is also required. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, related field preferred or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is preferred
