Job description

Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT) is the world’s largest telematics service provider. Its mission is to make the world’s roads and drivers safer. The company’s AI-driven platform, DriveWell Fusion®, gathers sensor data from millions of IoT devices — including smartphones, proprietary Tags, connected vehicles, dashcams, and third-party devices — and fuses them with contextual data to create a unified view of vehicle and driver behavior. Auto insurers, automakers, commercial mobility companies, and the public sector use insights from CMT’s platform to power risk assessment, safety, claims, and driver improvement programs. Headquartered in Cambridge, MA, with offices in Budapest, Chennai, Seattle, Tokyo, and Zagreb, CMT measures and protects tens of millions of drivers across the world every day.

CMT is looking for a collaborative, customer-committed, and creative Data Technician who wants to join us in making roads safer by making drivers better! Every second counts in a car crash, and reducing the time for an ambulance to the scene of the crash by even a minute can save hundreds of lives! To build these data science algorithms, we need data being cleaned, labeled and helping our customers’ to investigate real world crash cases - that’s where you come in.

Responsibilities:

  • Skillfully look at data from GPS, accelerometers, and other sensors to accurately label auto crashes
  • Use trip review tool to label data based on the characteristics of the crashes
  • Investigate real world crash data for our customers who use CMT products.
  • Write summary reports about the labeling work and investigation
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists for data quality control and monitoring the performance of new model deployments
  • Contribute to the data processing codebase
  • Writing automated pipelines for data processing

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Google Sheets
  • Knowledge of SQL, pandas and object oriented programming in Python
  • Passion for drawing insights from data
  • Demonstrated ability in working with numerical data

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Fair and competitive salary based on skills and experience
  • Equity in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)
  • Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance, matching 401k, short-term & long-term disability and parental leave
