Role Overview:

The Vice President, Group Insurance Thought Leadership and Content Marketing will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive, brand-focused thought leadership marketing strategy that fortifies Prudential Group Insurance’s (GI) brand trust and consideration while raising expert profiles and helping to drive business outcomes. This role will empower all customers to take positive financial actions with Prudential by delivering insightful, engaging, and actionable content that resonates with our audiences and sets our brand apart. The ideal candidate is a strategic thought leader and experienced storyteller, preferably in the group benefits space, with a passion for delivering high-impact programs and a track record of achieving key performance metrics and driving business growth.

Location for this role is flexible, but travel to Newark as needed is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Thought Leadership Strategy: Lead the planning, development, and implementation of thought leadership marketing strategies for Prudential's Group Insurance business, creating content that positions Prudential as an industry leader and aligns with GI brand and business objectives. Contribute to the development of the Group Insurance Marketing Plan, which will be heavily reliant on a thought leadership strategy to drive business results and improve market presence.

  • Content Development: Develop high-impact thought leadership and content that showcases Prudential’s expertise, and enhances brand perception..

  • Research and Insights: Oversee the commissioning and analysis of research and manage research partnerships to generate insights that optimize strategic plans, content delivery, and enhance Prudential's external positioning. Drive actionable down-funnel executions to turn engagement into high-quality marketing leads for various sales organizations.

  • Content Distribution: Strategically repurpose content and leverage earned, paid, and social partnerships to maximize distribution and engagement across multiple channels, including paid, owned, earned, and shared media.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with USB brand, analytics, digital marketing, and media teams to optimize content performance, including SEO and search results. Map content journeys, ideate, execute, and measure content impact to drive brand and business goals.

  • Partnerships: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with media outlets, event organizers, and social influencers to amplify content reach and impact.

  • Messaging and Narratives: Work closely with senior business leaders to translate complex cross-business messaging into simplified and compelling narratives that can be used externally to drive key value propositions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years in Marketing, with 5+ years in a strategy or senior content marketing role. Proven expertise in developing thought leadership and content strategies that drive demand and increase brand consideration.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, able to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences including brokers, employers, and employees.

  • Media Acumen: Strong acumen in analyzing and leveraging the media environment to advance organizational goals.

  • Collaboration and Influence: Effective collaboration and negotiation skills, showing an ability to influence without ownership, gaining support and trust across the organization to achieve agreed-upon business outcomes.

  • Brand Passion: Passionate about brand purpose and employee engagement to drive brand impact.

  • Business Acumen: Exceptional business, analytical, and financial acumen with the ability to build business cases and demonstrate the value of thought leadership programs in driving business outcomes.

  • B2B and B2B2C Experience: Demonstrated experience with B2B and B2B2C, with a strong understanding of digital marketing channels that influence those audiences

  • Research and Partnerships: Proven ability to manage research partnerships and leverage insights to inform content strategy. Successful track record of building and maintaining strategic partnerships with media outlets, event organizers, and social influencers.

  • Project Management: Demonstrated project management skills, very organized with high attention to detail, and excellent follow-up and follow-through.

The salary range for this role is from $195,100.00 to $263,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
