About the Team

The accounting team is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and compliance with accounting standards. The accounting team consists of the corporate accounting team, technical accounting and financial reporting, revenue accounting, and accounts receivable teams. The team operates collaboratively, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement in financial processes. This role is an individual contributor role under the corporate accounting team.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Payroll Manager who is passionate about the end-to-end ownership of payroll processes, tax, compliance and accounting and is excited about being a member of the accounting team at an organization making a meaningful difference in the world. The ideal candidate will have a prior history of owning all aspects of the payroll processes, including payroll accounting and compliance,  in a dynamic fast-growth environment. The candidate should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, partner well cross-functionally, and have a flexible, can-do approach.

Your Impact

  • Full ownership of payroll processes and payroll accounting

  • Ensure regulatory compliance with all federal, state, local, and international payroll regulations and tax filing requirements

  • Full ownership of the payroll accounting for all payroll and payroll-related accounts 

  • Accurate payroll processing of employee pay, deductions, taxes, and one-time payments (bonuses, commissions, reimbursements, etc)

  • Serve as a main point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries, issues,  and new initiatives 

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of payroll management experience

  • Proficient with multistate and global payroll processes 

  • Strong understanding of payroll accounting, including journal entries and reconciliations

  • Proficiency with Workday and ADP

  • Experience maintaining regulatory compliance, process documentation, and payroll policies

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to partner effectively across functions and levels throughout the company

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with a big-picture strategic understanding

  • Ability to manage ambiguity, and multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with a high sense of urgency

  • Hands-on, “Roll-up the sleeves” approach to accomplishing all necessary tasks

  • Experience in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion

Nice to Haves

  • Working knowledge of NetSuite

  • Assisting in various financial audits

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field

  • CPP or other payroll professional certifications designation preferred, but not required

  • CPA designation preferred, but not required
