About The Position:

The College Success Program Manager, Core is a remote position that will report to the Director of College Success and plays a critical role in the success of our college students by hiring, training, and managing a cohort of paid, college student mentors called Success Coaches. Each Coach manages a caseload of first and second-year college students to ensure they are making progress toward key college persistence milestones with the ultimate goal of college graduation. The College Success Program Manager, Core will practice outcomes-oriented remote management of Coaches through weekly calls, texts, monthly phone calls, using existing programmatic systems and processes. The College Success Program Manager, Core role is full-time; with occasional evening and weekend work  required.

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Coach Management: (50%)

  • Hire, train, and supervise Success Coaches 
  • Monitor outreach quality and provide ongoing feedback and quality assurance to Coaches
  • Facilitate monthly Coach meetings and annual Coach training 
  • Collaborate with Program Design team to update existing training resources to meet the skill development needs of coaches in the Success program
  • Provide coverage for coach PTO, including interacting with students directly by responding to message
 

Data management and tracking  (30%)

  • Track and drive student engagement and progress towards organizational benchmarks
  • Monitor core+ student engagement data and ensure that we are meeting our goals for student engagement, program recruitment, retention and impact.
  • Track qualitative and quantitative trends to share with the larger programmatic team
  • Interpret core+ student survey results for learning and improvement
  • Other assignments, as needed
 

Student Support & Continuous Program Improvement: (20%)

  • Support annual recruitment efforts of the Success team
  • Regularly monitor student progress through Coach dashboards and text platform to ensure all students are  appropriately escalated for further intervention by Coaches 
  • Guide the development and execution of Coach-led interventions when students are flagged with a persistence challenge
  • Occasionally provide phone-based support for students at key persistence moments including mid-year and end-of-year 
  • Assist in the development and refinement of new programmatic interventions to ensure all students persist in college
  • Support the redevelopment of the Student Leadership Council and serve as a staff liaison for SLC members  
  • Oversee and perform administrative and logistical support functions
  • Plan and support workshops or other activities as needed for volunteer engagement or other mission-related events
  • Other assignments, as needed

  • Regular check ins with part-time reports

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • A genuine passion for, knowledge of, and commitment to LGR’s mission
  • Enjoys leveraging data and technology to support student success
  • Related work experience including college access or success direct student advising or people/project management experience
  • Comfort working within an evolving remote program model 
  • Demonstrates a solutions-oriented approach, an enthusiastic response to challenges, and flexibility and adaptability in a changing organization
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proven project and/or people management skills 
  • Experience with Google Mail/Docs, Word, Excel, Powerpoint 
     

Location & Hours:

This is a remote, full-time position that requires employees to be available for work and collaboration between standard work day hours (Eastern time). Employees will be issued a work laptop and initial work-from-home stipend (see below).

 

Compensation and Benefits: 

Salary range of $48k - $50k with excellent benefits and a flexible working environment. 

Salary commensurate with work experience and skill level.
