Job description

Job Title: Financial Analyst - Junior

Number of positions: 1

Urgency and target start date: Immediate

Security clearance: minimum Secret maximum TS

Work location: remote – minimum of 1 day a month in Arlington (DARPA HQ)

Work hours: 8:00am-5:00pm (with lunch break)

 

Position Overview

BizFirst is supporting our client in search of a full-time, permanent Financial Analyst. In this position, the Data Analyst will synthesize insights from the vast amount of data captured by the Office of the CFO (OCFO) Government employees, and partner closely with Government analysts. The data governance and analytics analyst shall collaborate with key OCFO stakeholders to craft strategies to improve the performance of the team. The analyst shall generate and share learnings and drive the execution of the strategic recommendations made through project management.

Our client is a specialized management consulting firm that engages experienced professionals and consultants to support the federal government with strategic project execution, financial process optimization, advanced IT solutions, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation. Through innovative transformations, they develop and implement strategies to optimize operations for military departments and agencies across the U.S. Federal Government.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply accounting and finance concepts to client situations
  • Perform financial, budgetary, and operational data analytics
  • Meet engagement project expectations defined by project and engagement stakeholders
  • Identify, communicate, and address project risks, assumptions, and constraints
  • Assume responsibility for the collection and documentation of project and engagement financial, accounting and audit related information for daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting, as directed
  • Assume responsibility for the completion and delivery of engagement specific work products and deliverables
  • Ability to conduct detailed research and analysis of financial information.
  • Other related duties as assigned by PM/team lead

 

 Required Qualifications

  • Education requirements are not mandatory. Actively working towards a higher degree is desirable
  • The financial analyst (junior) shall have a minimum of (1) year of general experience in: automated systems to include database maintenance and reporting; the ability to extract and report reliable data; sound oral, analytical, and written communications skills; experiencing communicating with various levels of personnel; and ability to anticipate, project and plan accordingly.
  • Further, the financial analyst (junior) shall have one (1) year of specialized experience in similar services (financial management, financial operations); knowledge and application experience of basic finance and accounting principles and the ability to analyze financial documents an identify problems
