The Role

The Sales Development Representative is primarily responsible for the identification of new business opportunities within our EMEA market. This role will focus on our new license customers, has a strong focus on sales, and achieving pipeline generation goals. 


Role Specifics

  • Work Location: Remote, UK
  • Travel: 5% (The percent of travel is an estimation, and it could vary up or down based on business needs throughout the year.)
  • Reporting Structure: Reports to the Director, Sales Development.


What You Will Own

  • Identify updates to tools and new tools to improve results 
  • Proactively generate new business leads and sales opportunities in the Higher Ed and Student Property Management (Proptech/PBSA) markets as priority 
    • Generate new leads and build relationships through outbound sales activities  
    • Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects and engage account executives for next steps 
    • Identify best practices to refine the company’s lead generation playbook 
      • Utilize SalesForce, Gong, HubSpot, cold calling, social channels, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, email, and referrals to generate new sales opportunities 
      • Identify prospect's needs, pain points, qualifying attributes, to move to demo/discovery sales phase with account executives 
      • Build trusted relationships with prospects to qualify leads as sales opportunities 
      • Research, find, and update prospective accounts and contacts to target outbound activities 
      • Set up meetings or calls between prospective customers and account executives 
      • Report to Director, Sales Development with weekly and monthly results, participate in team meetings and huddles 
      • Consistently update, evolve, and identify new approaches and areas for improvement to ensure results 
      • Understand products, solutions, value, and pain points


      Required Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree 
      • 1-2+ years of experience in a sales development role 
          • Previous use of CRM system, in particular Salesforce
          • Be self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work independently 
          • Outgoing and engaging personality 
          • Excellent attention to detail 
          • Ability to successfully build rapport with stakeholders 
          • Able to maintain a high level of productivity, manage multiple competing priorities, and work effectively under pressure and with time constraints in a fast-paced team-oriented environment 
          • Ability to prioritize tasks and set, manage, and meet deadlines 
          • Knowledge of MS Office Suite products 


          Preferred Qualifications

          • Higher education housing experience is especially valuable, but not required 
          • Previous use of StarRez software is useful, but not required
