Job Description:

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for leading all 2nd line independent credit risk oversight for new and existing Discover Personal Loan (DPL) and Home Loan (DHL) portfolios. Responsible for review and effective challenge of 1st line credit strategies to ensure that all strategies related to DPL and DHL credit meet profitability hurdles and are within corporate risk appetite.

  • Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.


How You’ll Do It

  • Responsible for the end-to-end oversight of credit risk performance of new and existing Discover DPL and DHL accounts. Leads analytic staff in developing appropriate strategy level monitoring, ongoing performance analyses to identify early trends, and reporting to ensure loans meet expected profitability hurdles and credit loss targets.

  • Responsible for effectively challenging credit assumptions used to forecast strategy P&Ls prior to implementation and reviewing our test & learn programs. Leads analytic staff in identify emerging risks and providing a concise point of view to senior executives.

  • Provides counsel to the Chief Credit Officer and executive management on issues related to DPL and DHL credit risk, and evaluates significant transactions and/or capital commitments


Qualifications You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Analytics, Statistics, or related

  • 12+ years of experience in credit risk management, marketing analytics or related experience
