LeadVenture is looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to manage sales/use, GST, and VAT filings, oversee the Avalara system, assess tax risks for acquisitions, and support US income tax provision preparation. This role involves conducting tax research, assisting with tax returns, ensuring compliance, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong tax knowledge, experience working with external advisors, and the ability to establish effective controls and policies.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales/use, GST, and VAT filings.
- Manage our Avalara environment, to ensure the assessment, collection, and filing are properly working.
- Assess recent acquisitions for tax risk areas, and onboard with our current tools and apply our existing tax framework.
- Review purchase transactions to ensure accuracy of use tax accruals.
- Assist in the preparation of the US federal and state income tax provision to support our audited financial statements. Includes reconciliation of tax accounts.
- Gather information and prepare workpapers for US income tax returns that are prepared by external advisors.
- Utilize technology to support continuous improvement of our processes.
- Maintain relevant knowledge of tax laws
- Conduct research on tax issues and prepare analysis and recommendations for the company.
- Communicate with federal or state tax authorities to resolve tax matters.
- Monitor third -party preparers and consultants’ compliance with budget
- Establish controls and policies to proper controls
- Assist with special projects.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and/or in-house corporate team.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
- CPA or equivalent license required.
- Understanding of ASC 740 and income tax accounting concepts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including index/match and pivot tables) with an interest in process improvement and automation.
- Experience with NetSuite, Avalara, tax provision and/or tax compliance software a plus.

This position will be supporting our Dealer Car Search brand. Dealer Car Search provides automobile dealers with a multitude of Web Applications to help them manage their dealership more efficiently and profitably.
