Claims Adjuster- Equine


About the role:

The Equine Adjuster will be managing the investigation and adjustment of equine mortality claims from initial assignment to full resolution working with independent adjusters and agents in the investigation of reported losses. The position may also be involved in the handling of claims for other programs for DUAL North America, as needed.


Location: Hybrid/Remote

Salary Range: $85,000.00-$100,000.00


Essential Functions:

• Manage the adjustment of reporting claims, including any investigation and adjustment by Independent Adjusters and experts.

• Input payment if the claim settlement is within approved authority level or request authority as needed based on each individual claim.

• Communicate the claim decision according to the requirements of each state in which the claim was reported

• Provide high quality product and excellent customer service to all policyholders.

• Communicate with the policyholder, policyholder representatives, agents, brokers, experts and independent adjusters as needed during the life of each claim.

• Utilize all available reports to manage pending claims and continue to track them through completion

• Review all recovery possibilities that may be available, and work with subrogation vendors.

• Manage litigation or other forms of dispute resolution, when necessary.

• Manage third party vendors

• Interact with Underwriting Team, London brokers, and carriers , as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements (education, experience, skills):

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred

• 3+ years of experience in equine adjusting preferred

• Prior remote working experience preferred

• Must have current and valid adjuster’s license in at least one state, and ability to get others, as needed

• Knowledge of equine mortality insurance policies

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong interpersonal communication skills

• Experience with computerized estimating system, PC and software applications

• Willingness to learn, train and grow knowledge
