Job description

To prospective teammates,

I am a Regional Medical Director with Sound Critical Care at our program in Plano, Texas. I along with my colleague Rebecca Doebel, MD. RMD in Dallas and David Ciceri, MD, RMD in Austin, are proud of the intensivist teams that Sound Critical Care has built over the last 23 years. We feel strongly that our ambassador (travel) team has played a large role in our ability to expand over the years. I welcome interest from experienced critical care advanced practice providers (APPs) looking to join our growing team of ambassadors. We are seeking APP’s interested in working at our programs in Plano, Dallas and Austin, Texas, primarily. This is a position requiring 10-night shifts per month, 12-hour shifts.

About

I’d like to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider your next steps:

People

  • We’re an established and quickly growing team of experienced critical care APPs from various practice backgrounds, focused on the care of ICU patients.
  • Our team members live throughout the country and travel to our hospital partner sites nationwide.
  • Our critical care APPs all have at least 3 years of ICU experience as independent practitioners and are passionate about teamwork, integrity, and delivering high-quality patient care.

Practice

  • Our ambassador APPs practice in various ICU settings and are highly adaptable.
  • Our nurse practitioners and physician assistants have the opportunity to lead and develop new team models and mentor new team members.
  • Ambassadors participate in any team meetings and initiatives to drive high-quality care and bring better care to the bedside.
  • Our ambassador clinicians’ airfare and lodging are paid for by Sound in addition to their compensation.
  • Ambassadors work a modified block schedule to maximize travel and minimize transitions.
  • Texas license is required. Sounds’ licensing team will help manage the procurement of any state licenses needed to work at one of our hospital partner locations. We’ll cover the cost of these licenses.
  • $144.000 annual compensation at 10 shifts per month
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.

Purpose

  • We put patients first. Always.
  • Focusing on growth and development is a key feature of Sound practices, where teammates can expand their careers locally and within the broader medical group.
  • We’re a community-minded team and encourage our team members who want to contribute in and out of the hospital to help make our local community thrive.
