Job description

  • This position is open to remote employee within the state of Oregon.


JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

  • Executes medium to large sized program(s) with a broad focus that meet the needs of the organization, employees and/or customers. Plans, initiates, oversees execution of all elements for assigned program(s). Leads the development, implementation and management of assigned program(s) and associated projects. Oversees process from planning to completion. Works with multiple internal teams, vendors, clients. Responsible for explaining, training, and mentoring the entire organization on the program. Collaborates with SHS system experts to ensure focus, alignment, and best practices for the program.


  • This position will:
  • - Develop and manage Health Related Social Needs (HRSN) Community Based Services.
  • - Manage internal and external requirements relating to HRSN.
  • - Support the ongoing support of a robust community based social care network.


  • The ideal candidate will have the following:
  • - Extensive knowledge of community based organizations in the IHN-CCO Region.
  • - Knowledge of Oregon Health Authority and CCO models addressing Social Determinants of Health (SDOH).
  • - Commitment to health equity.


DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

  • Samaritan Health Plans (SHP) operates a portfolio of health plan products under several different legal structures: InterCommunity Health Plans, Inc. (IHN) is designated as a regional Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) for Medicaid beneficiaries; Samaritan Health Plans, Inc. offers Medicare Advantage, Commercial Large Group, and Commercial Large Group PPO and EPO plans; SHP is also the third-party administrator for Samaritan Health Services’ self-funded employee health benefit plan. As part of an Integrated Delivery System, Samaritan Health Plans is strategically and operationally aligned with Samaritan Health Services’ mission of Building Healthier Communities Together.


EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Three (3) years directly related experience in a managed care/health plan/health insurance setting required.
  • Leadership experience required.
  • Experience in management principles, practices, policies, procedures and regulations as they relate to assigned program(s) required.
  • Experience and/or training in computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software, required.
