Core Duties

The Senior Machine Learning Operations Engineer builds and supports infrastructure to deploy, scale, and monitor AI/ML services and data pipelines in production. This role is also responsible for the automation of machine learning workflows, implementing scheduled jobs, and managing CI/CD pipelines. Additionally, it supports dashboard solutions ensuring secure, efficient, and accessible data access for end users. This position requires familiarity with machine learning processes, including best practices in deployment and pipeline automation, though it does not involve model training responsibilities.

Knows the Business

Architect, build, and collaborate with DevOps team to implement scalable, cloud-based infrastructure (AWS services) for deploying and monitoring AI/ML services.
Support the automation/maintenance of machine learning pipelines, implementing cron jobs and GitHub actions to streamline model deployment, data retrieval, and data processing workflows.
Drive automation via CI/CD pipelines, facilitating deployment and integration of machine learning models and dashboards.

Leads Others

Work with DevOps team to implement performance monitoring solutions to ensure availability and security of production systems, including logging and alerting.

Accountable

Stay on top of emerging trends in cloud infrastructure, continuously improving reliability and efficiency.
Use tools such as FastAPI and Docker for building APIs and containerizing applications.

Team Player

Document architecture and processes for consistent knowledge sharing and team alignment.
Collaborate with data engineering, data science, DevOps, and software teams to align infrastructure and deployment strategies with business and technical requirements.
Work with data engineers to set up and maintain web-based dashboards to support the monitoring of machine learning models in production.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Software development with understanding of principles for creating scalable and maintainable systems.
Python and software development with experience building and maintaining backend services and APIs.
Experience with CI/CD tools and automation practices, particularly with GitHub Actions and cron jobs.
Problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex issue.
Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) and how to support their development in production.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar (Associate level or higher), preferred.
Experience with monitoring tools, (i.e., Prometheus, CloudWatch, or similar) for tracking health and performance.
Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes or similar.
Understand cloud security best practices and experience implementing secure environments.
