The Process Engineer Manager is responsible for overseeing the Nebraska Medicine Process Engineering team, with a focus on continuous performance improvement to achieve the objective and key results of the health system. Will train colleagues to utilize process improvement strategies and Lean strategies to assess and identify opportunities to improves process efficiency and resource allocation while ensuring high quality standards are maintained Their role is both strategic and operational, with a focus on continuous improvement and process optimization.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in industrial engineering or equivalent analytical decree required
  • 5 or more years of experience leading performance improvement project and/or an engineering team with demonstrated continuous improvements leveraging Lean Manufacturing required.
  • Operational knowledge of healthcare areas such as nursing, perioperative services, emergency department and support services required.
  • Ability to provide oral and written technical guidance, training, and policy interpretation related to process engineering, standardization, and continuous improvement processes, including excellent presentation and facilitation skills required.
  • Experience with process simulations and standard operating procedures required. Exposure to process mapping tools and data analytics tools such as Excel, Tableau required.
  • Knowledge of process improvement techniques such as Lean, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, process mapping, time studies, staffing analysis, and change management required.
  • Ability to lead the integration and implementation of engineering and continuous improvement principles as related to work methods improvement, operational performance improvement, work measurement, and employee scheduling and staffing, and workflow analysis and facility layout planning required.
  • Ability to lead multi-functional performance improvement teams in the establishment of best practices and their continuous improvement including conduct time and line balancing studies and analyze finding on operations, processes, systems and equipment required.
  • Ability to develop and implement technical solutions regarding equipment and optimization of space, equipment, and complement to meet new or changed processing requirements required.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data, test hypotheses, evaluate and present results providing fact-based solution strategies for key business issues required.
  • Ability to oversee and coordinate the activities of others to meet project objectives, including organizing, assigning, and monitoring the work, establishing effective work relationships, and facilitating the flow of work-related information required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS degree preferred
  • Professional certifications, i.e. Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) or similar preferred.
