What You’re Getting Yourself Into

As a Retention Marketing Manager, you’ll manage email, SMS, and push campaigns for e-commerce brands, focusing on lifecycle marketing, loyalty programs, and customer segmentation. You’ll collaborate with internal teams to execute campaigns on platforms like Klaviyo and Postscript, while tracking performance, conducting A/B tests, and providing insights for optimization. Working closely with clients, you’ll align on strategy, refine customer journeys, and ensure timely delivery of all campaign assets.

This is a fully remote contractor role of 20 hours per week. Working hours cover the MT timezone.

How You Will Spend Your Time

  • Drive retention growth by managing and optimizing multi-channel campaigns (email, SMS, push) across different email marketing tools, resulting in increased customer loyalty and lifetime value for e-commerce clients
  • Ensure seamless campaign execution by coordinating with cross-functional teams (designers, copywriters, account managers), delivering on-time, high-quality campaigns that exceed client goals and expectations
  • Analyze A/B test results, conversion metrics, and key performance indicators like repurchase rates, LTV, and engagement to identify opportunities for continuous optimization
  • Maximize segmentation and automation by refining lifecycle marketing flows, reducing churn, and increasing repeat purchases through targeted messaging and personalized customer experiences
  • Conduct thorough quality assurance checks to ensure campaigns are free of errors and meet industry standards, improving open rates, click-through rates, and customer retention
  • Align with clients on strategy by collaborating on campaign goals and performance reviews, delivering clear insights and recommendations that improve overall marketing effectiveness and client satisfaction
  • Enhance campaign accuracy and quality by ensuring all creative content, links, and copy are error-free, reducing bounce rates and increasing open and click-through rates

Who You Are

  • You have 3+ years of experience managing email, SMS, and push campaigns for e-commerce brands, with a focus on retention marketing strategies such as lifecycle marketing, loyalty programs, and customer segmentation
  • You have hands-on experience with email platforms like Klaviyo, Braze, and Sendlane, as well as SMS/Push platforms such as Postscript, Attentive, or OneSignal
  • You are proficient in performance tracking and optimization, including A/B testing, analyzing conversion metrics, and using engagement strategies to enhance campaign effectiveness
  • You have a solid understanding of HTML/CSS and basic coding for email design and customization, as well as experience with CRM, CDPs, and eCommerce platforms like Shopify
  • You are skilled at collaborating with cross-functional teams (designers, copywriters, account managers) to execute campaigns that meet client expectations and deliver results
  • You thrive in a data-driven environment, using insights to constantly refine and optimize campaigns, ensuring measurable results and continuous growth
  • You have strong communication skills and are comfortable managing client-facing responsibilities, providing updates and insights in a clear and professional manner
  • You are organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines, even in a fast-paced environment without a dedicated project manager
