POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Manager, Search and Evaluation will work with the Research Affairs and Investment teams and lead sourcing and scientific evaluation of cutting-edge genetic medicines opportunities. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) has committed to invest over $500M toward our genetic medicines-focused Path to a Cure (PTAC) initiative by 2025. The Senior Manager will interface with eminent scientists, entrepreneurs, and biotech companies developing genetic medicines. The Senior Manager role will be a high visibility position with compelling learning and development opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sourcing activities including planning and attending partnering and scientific conferences; conducting literature reviews of strategic technologies; and building and maintaining relationships with established scientists, entrepreneurs, biotech companies, TTOs and incubator programs.
Scientific due diligence activities including the evaluation of technical feasibility, competitive differentiation, preclinical and clinical development, and team capabilities, etc.
Lead review of prospective investment company’s materials and virtual data rooms.
Prepare and present due diligence analyses and recommendations in a structured and clear format to a broad internal audience.
Manage the sourcing, engagement, and direction of consultants and key opinion leaders (KOL).
Lead landscapes across modalities and therapeutic areas based on primary and secondary research and support the development of strategic frameworks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ph.D., M.D. preferred.
Minimum of 7-9 years of relevant professional experience.
1-3 years of experience in a business development, technology transfer or commercialization, experience in the conduct of due diligence preferred.
Direct experience or a strong working knowledge in areas such as molecular biology, biochemistry, protein engineering, gene editing, and gene delivery required.
Strong ability to interface with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to synthesize information from various sources and evaluate alternative approaches.
Ability to prepare well-written, well-organized material and to present recommendations in a clear and concise manner.

Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature.
Travel up to 25% of time to attend investor, partnering, and scientific conferences and meetings, as necessary.

The salary range is $118,900.00 to $148,500.00. Specific salary varies based on geographic location and is commensurate with experience.
