The Role and Team

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Delivery and Deployment team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing the systems that Medallia uses to deploy and operate our databases globally at scale. These systems are critical to our ability to advance our industry-leading SaaS platform.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement new functionality that is essential for orchestrating the complex rollout of Medallia Experience
• Cloud releases into environments across multiple data centers and geographic regions.
• Maintain and improve the systems used to dynamically deploy, scale, and operate databases.
• Partner with the database administration team to understand requirements and use cases.
• Ensure observability of our deployment stack to achieve and maintain proper alerting and monitoring.
  
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of engineering experience working on distributed systems or operations engineering.
• Demonstrated understanding of software fundamentals, development processes, and best practices.
• 2 years of Python experience.
• 1 year of scripting experience with Bash.
• 1 year of Automation experience.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python experience.
• Experience working with a globally distributed team.
• Strong systems troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using Kubernetes.
• Experience operating Postgres databases.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
