We are now looking for a new team member to join us in Stockholm for a fixed-term contract during 2025!

The Team

Surveillance within Nasdaq works to keep our markets fair and efficient by upholding effective and well-balanced regulation and fairly enforcing our rules. We are at the core of the marketplaces, and we interact with issuers, trading participants, investors and regulators to build and preserve confidence in our markets. We take part in forming rules and practices, and we make important decisions to protect investors and to uphold orderly trading.

The team monitors trading in all asset classes across (equities, fixed income instruments and derivatives) the Nordic marketplaces that Nasdaq operates. Further, the team is responsible for admitting new trading members and to monitor their ongoing compliance in relation to regulations and rules.

Employees within Surveillance are subject to restrictions with regards to trading in securities.

This is an exciting opportunity where you will be at the core of the marketplace with the goal to protect the integrity and preserve confidence in our markets. In this role, you will be analyzing trading patterns and identifying abnormal behavior that can indicate suspicious market abuse (e.g., insider trading and market manipulation), together with other forms of breaches of rules.

We offer you the opportunity to be part of one of Nasdaq’s key departments within the exchange side of our business. We are looking for someone with high integrity and analytical skills with the ambition to become an expert in several exciting areas of the financial markets and our products.

Your role and responsibilities will include:
  • Surveillance of real time trading and post trade analysis.
  • Complete interventions in trading, e.g., trade breaks and suspensions
  • Address market participant inquires.
  • Perform review of membership applications, and present assessments and conclusions to the Nasdaq decision makers.

We expect you to have:
  • Education Required: Degree in Business administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering or other relevant area.
  • Strong interest in financial markets and market integrity
  • To be a team player and solution-orientated person
  • Analytical and able to make quick decisions based on analysis from various sources of information.
  • Excellent language skills in both written and spoken English.

And it would be great if you have:
  • Experience from financial markets and understanding of trading and financial instruments
  • Broad knowledge of Microsoft Excel, proficiency with Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent conflict management and customer service skills.

What happens now?

This is a fixed term position until December 2025, located in Stockholm. Nasdaq offers a hybrid workplace to find a balance between working from home and collaborating in the office, therefore it's required to come into the office at least 2 days per week.
