As an Engineering Manager on the Mobile team, you will lead a team of talented mobile engineers (Android and iOS) to build new and meaningful experiences for our clients using. What you’ll do:
- Lead a team of leads, architects, engineers, and QAs to drive initiatives from idea formulation to design and implementation, ensuring adherence to best practices, including testing, observability, and SDK maintenance.
- Set and communicate a technical vision and direction for mobile SDKs and applications, steering the team to realize this vision effectively.
- Act as a bridge across various teams, including Product, Design, and Analytics, to capture requirements, refine SDK modules, and support their evolution.
- Participate in cross-functional technical, design, and product discussions to ensure cohesive integration and alignment.
- Manage cross-product technical dependencies, facilitating conflict resolution and timely development.
- Foster continuous improvement in team processes, code quality, architecture, and overall system design.
- Develop a strong, healthy, and diverse team through targeted hiring, mentoring, and coaching.
What You’ll Need:
- 8-12+ years of software development experience in an Agile environment, with 3-5+ years in leading mobile development teams with a solid record of project delivery.
- Hands-on experience with React Native and JavaScript in a mobile development setting; experience building and distributing SDK libraries for React Native modules is essential.
- Strong technical expertise in native iOS and/or Android app development (Android Studio with Java/Kotlin and/or XCode with Objective-C/Swift) and cross-platform development tools such as Flutter (a plus).
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex system designs, providing technical direction while being hands-on as needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to clearly present complex technical details to a variety of audiences.
- Experience in managing mobile applications with a focus on reliability, resiliency, and scalability.
- SDK development experience, especially in packaging, distributing, and supporting libraries and modules for client use.
- Familiarity with API integrations and the ability to work from technical interface specifications.
- Strong understanding of software design/architecture patterns, OOP/OOD principles, and mobile CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven experience with tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, JIRA, and mobile automation frameworks (e.g., Appium).
- Experience with unit and integration testing within a CI framework and a solid grasp of relational and non-relational databases.
- Knowledge of Agile methodology and a track record of working in Agile environments.
- Healthcare industry experience or an interest in learning healthcare terminologies and compliance considerations (e.g., data privacy regulations) is highly desirable.
