About This Opportunity
Are you a dynamic leader ready to drive talent excellence across a growing organization? As the Director of Talent Management & Systems, you’ll shape the strategic direction of our talent acquisition, development, and management systems, enhancing HR technology and building scalable, data-driven processes that align with Leading Educators’ mission and people-first culture. In this influential role, you’ll manage talent strategies that touch every stage of the employee lifecycle, from full-cycle recruiting and learning and development to performance management and workforce planning. You’ll lead initiatives that empower our employees to reach their potential while ensuring our HR systems and processes support seamless experiences. Through close collaboration with the Managing Director of People & Talent and the executive leadership team, you’ll provide strategic guidance on talent and workforce development, informing key decisions that shape our organizational culture and impact. As a hands-on leader, you’ll champion best practices in project management, ensuring talent initiatives are well-coordinated, results-driven, and aligned with our overarching mission. This position is pivotal in establishing processes that support both organizational growth and employee success.
You’ll report directly to the Managing Director of People & Talent and co-manage the People & Talent Coordinator.

- Strategic Talent Systems & Workforce Development: Lead and provide strategic guidance in our HR technology, talent acquisition, onboarding, and workforce planning efforts, partnering with executive leaders to shape long-term talent strategies.
- Enhancing HR Technologies: Oversee and optimize our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), and other HR tools to create efficient, user-centered experiences.
- Collaborating and Building Relationships: Drive alignment and build strong partnerships across teams to support a cohesive and data-driven approach to talent management.
- Full-Cycle Recruiting: Lead end-to-end recruitment processes, attracting and selecting top talent that embodies our mission and values.
- Learning & Development: Design career pathways, mentoring programs, and impactful training opportunities that align employee growth with organizational goals.
- Performance Management Excellence: Develop and implement a performance management framework that fosters continuous feedback, accountability, and growth, empowering employees to reach their full potential.
- Project Management: Manage complex, cross-functional projects with precision, ensuring timely and impactful execution.

- Experience: 7+ years in talent management, HR systems, workforce planning, learning and development, and performance management, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment.
- Strategic Workforce Development: Demonstrated experience providing strategic talent and workforce development guidance to senior leadership, supporting organization-wide goals.
- HR Technology Savvy: Advanced expertise in ATS, HRIS, and AI-driven HR tools, with a proven record of optimizing these systems to meet organizational needs.
- Full-Cycle Recruiting: Proven track record in managing recruitment processes from sourcing to selection, with a focus on aligning hiring practices with organizational culture and goals.
- Learning & Development Expertise: Experience designing and implementing training programs that support skill development, career progression, and leadership growth.
- Performance Management Leadership: Skilled in developing and managing performance management frameworks that drive continuous feedback, accountability, and employee growth, fostering a culture of high performance and engagement.
- Project Management Proficiency: Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional projects, meeting deadlines and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Analytical Mindset: Data-driven decision-maker with experience in predictive analytics and workforce planning models.
- Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of employment laws and HR compliance requirements, including those related to recruitment, onboarding, and workforce management.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills, with experience in influencing and motivating cross-functional teams.
- Operational Excellence: Demonstrated ability to improve HR processes, ensuring efficiency and alignment with industry best practices.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and adjust strategies based on changing organizational needs.
Nice to Have:
- Agile & Scrum Methodology: Experience with Agile and Scrum project management methodologies within an HR or nonprofit setting.
Travel Requirements
This is a remote position that requires 25% travel:
- National travel for org retreats, programming, job related travel or professional development
- Outside of the above mentioned travel, this person will work from a home office that must be located anywhere within the U.S.

Benefits
- Compensation: The compensation range for this position is between $91,607 and $119,090 annually with the midpoint being $146,572. Candidates, either newly hired or new to the role, can typically expect a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications and internal equity.
- Benefits: 100% paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for individual employees. Additional premium costs are covered 60% by Leading Educators for partners and dependents on medical, dental, and vision plans. 4% matching 401k plan, Flexible Spending Accounts for medical, childcare and commuter expenses, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Benefits are valued at or above $9,000 for employees.
- Time Off:
- First three years of employment, full time staff accrue 22 days a year.
- Five additional days are accrued after the third and sixth year of employment.
- Leading Educators also offer 16 additional paid days off for various holidays, including three floating holidays staff may use at their discretion.
