Job description

Gatehouse Satcom has been a pivotal force in the satellite communication industry for over two decades. Our expertise spans from developing protocol software for BGAN satellite terminals to innovating in the 5G NTN domain through LEO, MEO, and GEO satellite systems. Our work includes the development of NB-IoT and New Radio protocol stacks, and we play an active role in the 3GPP standardization, ensuring our products align with the latest advancements.

We serve leading equipment manufacturers and operators in the aviation, defense, and space sectors. As demand for our expertise grows, we are looking for an ambitious and experienced Key Account Manager to expand our business success in the 5G space domain.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of the satcom and defense space, with a strong background in value-based selling and the ability to translate complex technologies into unique use cases and strategic value. You are self-driven, with proven experience in managing long sales cycles and selling technical software solutions. Furthermore, you bring expertise in developing and executing marketing campaigns aimed at driving pipeline growth and revenue generation. The role reports directly to the Vice President, Commercial at Gatehouse Satcom.

Key Responsibilities
As Key Account Manager at Gatehouse Satcom, your main task is to win new deals, and secure upsell and renewals with global B2B and B2G clients.

Furthermore, you will:

  • Grow the pipeline, drive sales processes and strategy, and lead the team in expanding customer engagements.
  • Own and manage customer accounts, building and nurturing strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure customer success and growth as a priority across the organization.
  • Drive account growth through proactive stakeholder management, including international accounts, and identifying new opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to build connections and expand market presence.
  • Shape our go-to-market strategy in collaboration with Marketing and Product Management, bringing insights from the field and deep experience with software sales to refine our approach.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in global B2B/B2G roles with a proven sales track record, ideally with sales experience with technology deliveries to government clients.

You also have:

  • Experience with technical software sales, long sales cycles and contract negotiation.
  • Established and robust network of industry contacts.
  • Knowledge of the satcom and defense space.
  • Experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns to drive pipeline and create revenue.
  • Experience with building trusted relationships with key customer stakeholders and the ability to navigate both business and government decision processes.
  • A results-driven mindset with the ability to thrive in an international domain and excel in communicating with global and local customers, with a profound cultural understanding.

You are motivated by creating both revenue and strong customer relations. You like to work in an international environment with challenging decision makers. You are adaptable, proactive and comfortable in a small team setting with a hands-on approach.
