The Role

The Planning Account Executive role is responsible for providing support to the EMEA digital planning arm of our Digital Media Engine (our centralised unit purchasing digital media across 21 EMEA markets). The Solutions team is a fully integrated cross digital channel approach in which Planning and Activation teams come together to deliver Volvo’s media objectives as a single entity.

The Digital Engine provides a single unified planning and buying approach to driving maximum ‘Outcomes’ for Volvo.

This role is dedicated to supporting integrated digital planning and stakeholder coordination across a cluster of markets in the EMEA region.

Working across markets and teams building strong relationships with all key stakeholders (clients, fellow colleagues, and local & WW Mindshare teams) is fundamental. We will work with you to pinpoint key contacts you are responsible for leading and developing.

 

You will be responsible for supporting day to day communication with the central and local Volvo marketing team and the local MS team where applicable. 

 

Reporting Structure

The Planning Account Executive reports directly to the Planning Account Manager. You will work directly, day to day with our channel delivery specialists to ensure consistent high-quality output for our client stakeholders.

 

The Ideal Candidate

The individual will be expected to use their own initiative to manage and coordinate workstreams to deliver integrated campaigns across search, social and programmatic platforms. You will lead by example, creating an environment where all members of the team have an opportunity to fulfil their potential and deliver exceptional work for our clients.

 

Experience required:
  • Digital media planning & buying experience is desirable, but not essential
  • A basic understanding of core digital media channels (such as Paid Search, Paid Social and Display)
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT etc)

Key skills & knowledge: 

The individual will be expected to support a team of planners to deliver integrated campaigns across search, social and programmatic platforms. You will be expected to champion and support the development of our best practice approach to delivering campaigns, strategy coordination and communication. Through coordination and day to day contact with clients, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional work for our clients. This role must be positive, proactive, and problem solving at the heart.

The 3 key principles of the role are:

  • Support key deliverables for your markets and work in full collaboration with the wider planning and activation teams as one Mindshare team
  • Develop an understanding of, and deliver audience and creative insights from campaign activity
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external key stakeholders to help drive forward the overall way of working and business relationship between agency and client(s)

 

Principal responsibilities:

 

Delivering client performance

  • Support the coordination media plans/ documents
  • Deliver audience, creative and campaign learnings across Google and Meta tech stacks to help grow media performance
  • Participate in wider initiatives, and share project status updates with wider team
  • Collaborate with planners and activation teams on plans, insights and recommendations
  • Share test & learn reviews with clients and the wider team to help grow EU hub learnings
  • Develop understanding of Volvo business – brand, category, products and competition, issues and challenges
  • Ensure consistency & high standard of output

Developing our product

 

Work with planning team to:

 

  • Collaborate on a consistent, best-in-class approach to design rooted in our best practice framework
  • Share quarterly roadmaps with clients and share case studies for scalable successes
  • Support the development of team ways of working and processes

Driving our process

  • Collate weekly reports and share with clients and capture actions and next steps
  • Provide support to team members in reviewing monthly plans, ensuring budgets and audiences are in line with recommendations and client briefs
  • Work with the Account Manager to facilitate planning
  • Support integrated ways of working between Mindshare Central and Mindshare Local Teams
  • Provide support in managing planning timeline and client requests efficiently for the team
  • Support the management of status documents and ensure teams are on track with key deliverables
  • Manage reconciled spend documents and share reconciled and paced spends with clients on a monthly basis
  • Manage internal file and folder structure with the Account Manager, including media plan versions and creative assets
  • Work with the team to ensure client timelines and deadlines are adhered to
  • Provide finance support to Volvo clients where required, ensuring finance POs are delivered on time and shared with teams

  • Surface and share great work from the team
  • Contribute to case studies and share examples of great work with clients
  • Begin to form opinions of media landscape and share points of view to keep the team on top of the latest trends or tech
  • A clear and concise style of writing with confident, persuasive presentation skills

  • Ensure cross market media learnings are surfaced to the wider teams and clients

  • Strong relationships with all key contacts via 360 and informal feedback
  • Supporting the Volvo planning process, and providing support to the teams to ensure response to briefs, reconciliations and weekly reports are completed to a high standard
