This role can be performed remotely or from our York, PA office with a Monday/Wednesday in-office plan.

What you will do:      

  • You will be responsible for designing the application of mechanical systems that may include Automated Guided Vehicles for transporting carts throughout the facility, gravity-based chute systems for trash and linen removal, pneumatic systems for automated waste and linen removal, and Pneumatic Tube Systems for transporting small materials throughout the hospital.
  • You will analyze the flow of materials and information through healthcare facilities by applying a wide range of quantitative tools and models to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • You will conduct site visits, interviews, and observations to assess the client’s operation for improvement opportunities while working with all levels of the client organization from the front-line staff to the executive leadership.  
  • As a Mechanical Engineer, you will serve as a subject matter expert during the planning and design of mechanical systems, providing your expertise and guidance.
  • You will be a passionate problem-solver who puts the client's needs first and has a strong desire to make a lasting impact on their operations through your work.

What we require: 

  • 4+ years of job-related experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of experience in a hospital or medical facility environment, conducting cost analysis, layout design, or inventory analysis.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement 
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
