Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, We’re looking to add a Commodity Manager located in Suzhou 苏州高新区.

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager the Commodity Manager role involves…

What a typical day looks like:

  • Establish and manage long term supplier relationships and will engage with all MCi production sites and product development teams
  • Guide the selection, development and management of Core and Strategic Suppliers to meet commodity costs and performance goals
  • Investigate, negotiate and implement cost reduction opportunities within the commodity spend to support the business
  • Implement programs for supplier selection, supplier performance management and supply base optimization
  • Manage the Quotation process for new products and executing benchmarks within the designated commodity
  • Monitor current commodity market conditions, technology roadmaps and identify supply/demand challenges. Develop, implement and communicate tactical and strategic commodity plans internally
  • Collaborate with MCi product development teams to coordinate sourcing strategies and ensure a smooth and timely manufacturing ramp on new programs
  • Provide access to leading technology, product roadmaps, technology strategies and industry trends.
  • Provide point of escalation for Commodity issues as appropriate
  • Regular review supply performance of suppliers, take proactive actions, coordinate with logistic team and suppliers when necessary to ensure the production.
  • Closing contracts with suppliers after approval

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Mandarin
  • Prior Automotive background of at least 3 years or more
  • Prior commercial experience of at least 3 to 5 years or more
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
  • Must be open to frequent travel as required by the job role
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Must manage long term projects and have strong project planning/management skills
  • Expertise with SAP ERP system, not essential but desirable
