About the Role:

The Business Technology & Data (BT&D) team empowers Confluent's growth and scalability by fostering a data-driven, systematic, and efficient organization. Our team, Strategy & Operations, drives BT&D's strategic initiatives and program execution across Business Systems, IT and Data. 
We are seeking a highly organized and driven Program Manager to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for leading and managing cross functional programs, agile operations within our Biz. Tech & Data group. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects and programs, preferably with a background in IT, Data or Business Systems. The individual will excel at stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and driving results in a fast-paced environment. 

What You Will Do:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of assigned programs, including facilitating OKR planning and tracking progress towards achieving objectives.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to understand their needs and ensure alignment of program/project priorities and deliverables. Effectively communicate status and risks to stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to project success. Develop contingency plans and escalate issues as needed.
  • Manage dependencies across multiple projects and teams to ensure seamless execution and avoid conflicts.
  • Work with stakeholders to prioritize and refine requirements to ensure they are clear, concise, and achievable (in collaboration with BT&D Program sponsor).
  • Track and report on OKRs. Provide regular status updates to leadership on status, risks and accomplishments.
  • Facilitate Agile Scrum/Kanban ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) to ensure effective team collaboration and project execution.
  • Maintain and prioritize the team's backlog of work ensuring alignment with overall strategy and roadmap.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in program management, preferably in IT, Data, or Business Systems
  • Proven experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Experience with Agile Scrum/Kanban methodologies. (Preferred)
  • Experience with project management tools. (e.g., Jira, Asana, Confluence) (Preferred)
  • PMP and Certified Scrum Master (CSM). (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with technologies - Salesforce (CRM), IT Sys. Engineering (IAM, Cloud, Security, Support), Data Platforms (Airflow, BigQuery, dbt, Confluent), Business Intelligence (Tableau)
