Job description

This is a remote position.

We are looking for a database administrator to join our team, responsible for managing administrative tasks for SQL Server databases as well as azure hosted data lake houses. You'll have the opportunity to develop and thrive in an environment where cutting-edge technology is a reality.

 

Your responsibilities would include the following:

  • Install, configure, manage, and secure SQL Server database servers in a 24/7 production environment, including version upgrades and patch management.
  • Proficient in database and server performance tuning, including indexing, query execution, and concurrency control to enhance efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve database performance issues (e.g., SQL timeouts, deadlocks, blocking), capacity constraints, and high availability challenges (e.g., replication).
  • Drive technical and procedural improvements to ensure database security, high availability, and reliability.
  • Provides support and ensures availability and performance requirements are met outside of normal working hours to support 24/7 operations.
  • Proactively maintain the health of the SQL Server database environment
  • Maintain the Azure Cloud Synapse environment, including configuration, monitoring, and performance optimization.
  • Have knowledge in azure cloud environment configuration.
  • Collaborate with application developers to design, test, implement, and maintain efficient data models.
  • Optimize and maintain backup jobs, schedules, and environments (Production, DR, Development).
  • Troubleshoot database and data issues, create, and manage administrative scripts, and document data processes.
  • Help maintain database administration documentation and best practices.


Requirements
  • 3-5 years of hands-on DBA experience
  • knowledge SSIS SSRS and SSAS
  • .Net knowledge is an added value
  • Experience in developing in T-SQL 
  • Expertise in managing large SQL Server databases.
  • Experience in Azure cloud environments.
  • Experience in administering Azure databases, including Synapse Analytics
  • Knowledge of administering Data-bricks is a plus.
  • Proficient in T-SQL
  • Skilled in indexing, statistics maintenance, security, and partitioning
  • Experienced in managing highly available environments.
