About the Financial Accountant Role:
As a Financial Accountant within the Group Finance team, you will work closely with our Integrated Business Services and Business Unit Finance teams.
Duties & Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Responsibility for lease accounting under IFRS16, ownership of the lease accounting model, and leading process improvement over the management and accounting for new leasing arrangements
- Ensuring timely and accurate monthly reporting and balance sheet reconciliations
- Technical support on key accounting areas focusing on leases, fixed assets, revenue and consolidations
- Automate leases, ensure completeness, robust repeatable process of adding/modifying leases and ensure the lease accounting is compliant with AASB 16
- Assist in the preparation of Group Consolidated Financials
- Assist in updating our lease data and implementation of our lease system
What you’ll bring to the Financial Accountant role:
- CA and/or CPA qualified
- Strong technical IFRS/AASB accounting knowledge
- Internal and/or external audit experience within a Big 4 or large mid-tier accounting firm
- Solid experience preparing consolidated financial statements
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
- Prior experience working in projects that automate/simplify large volumes of transactions (e.g., leases)
- Oracle (not essential)
