Data and Analytics Technical Lead
Please Note: This position is 100% remote, however you must reside within driving distance of our offices in Costa Mesa CA to attend meetings and team collaboration.
The Data Tech Lead is a member of the Insurance Data Engineering Team. They will play a critical role on the team developing data solutions to solve business and technical problems.
What You’ll Do
- Leading development & delivery of technical solution
- Architecting and coding solutions using big data tools and techniques
- Understanding complex business problems to ensure projects are leveraging the appropriate technology and analytical tools in the delivery of a comprehensive solution
- Understand the business goals/needs while utilizing big data and cloud technology to ingest, process, and analyze large amounts of data
- Understand how to transform findings into actionable business opportunities
- Understand the changing business needs of the organization/projects and recommend viable strategies for the future.
- Author and/or Review architecture/design and other technical documents ensuring high quality deliverables and systems development across tech stacks and applications teams
What You’ll Need
- 5+ years of working experience in a technical lead or an architect role
- Understanding of Cloud technology (preferably AWS- EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway,GLUE) and Big Data platforms (Hadoop- Sqoop, Hue, Impala, Hive, Hbase)
- 3-5 years of Experience developing solutions on Hadoop and NoSQL databases
- Experience with data modeling and business logic.
- Ability to think outside the box and understand the big picture thought process
- Ability to communicate clearly to business owners
- Highly proficient in SQL -Data architecting experience a plus.
Tableau and R is a plus - Data Mining/Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence experience a plus
- Experience with automated deployments and source code/configuration management tools such as GitHub, AWS Cloud formation, Jenkins, Terraform, etc.
- Ability to understand the big picture and drive the initiatives the lead to completion of the overall big picture
- Excellent time management skills, strong organizational skills and detail orientation required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and must also be a logical thinker with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

The starting pay range for this position is:
$138,900.00 - $185,200.00
Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
