The Pharmacy Resident is responsible for completing the requirements for Managed Care postgraduate year one (PGY1) residency program to build upon the educational foundation provided through the completion of an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program. This position will provide high-quality pharmaceutical care to our members in an atmosphere of educational growth, shared respect and communication. This position is located in our downtown Birmingham office and has occasional work-from-home opportunities. The timeframe for this role will be June 2025 through June 2026.

REQUIRED:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD)
  • Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the state of Alabama or eligible for licensing in Alabama within 90 days of employment
  • May require significant face-to-face member contact, with duties regularly performed away from the principal place of business
  • Willing to submit to vaccine testing and screening
  • 3 professional letters of recommendation and send to vivacareers@uabmc.edu or current residency director
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills through written and verbal communication
  • Exercise skills in educating health care professionals, patients, and the community
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
