Overview:
GitHub helps companies and organizations succeed by allowing them to build better software, together. We're looking for experienced Senior Solutions Engineers in Japan to provide technical sales support for our enterprise customer base.
Our Senior Solutions Engineers are responsible for the technical relationships with customers and prospects, working as trusted advisors to remove technical objections and creatively address pain points in a customer's SDLC. They will work internally with sales and product development teams to identify solutions that meet customers' business needs and document requests to expand the capabilities of GitHub's platform.

Responsibilities:
- Owning all technical aspects of the sales cycle, from discovery to qualification to proof-of-concept design/execution to post-sales transition
- Identifying customer business and technical requirements and matching them to product solutions
- Building joint customer strategies with enterprise sales, support, and customer success to encourage product adoption
- Delivering live demonstrations of GitHub’s products and platform to prospective customers
- Building relationships with key decision makers and serving as a customer's technical point of contact and advocate
- Navigating complex technical scenarios to help customers migrate to GitHub from their existing development tools and workflows
- Learning about customers' successes and challenges, sharing customer feedback within GitHub, and advocating for customer interests
- Communicating internally customer’s technical goals to guide post-sales teams to successful outcomes
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Many years experience in technical consulting, technical consultative selling, or related
technical/sales/industry experience- OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,
Engineering, or related field AND several years experience in technical consulting,
technical consultative selling, or related technical/sales/industry experience - OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,
Engineering, or related field AND a few years experience in technical consulting,
technical consultative selling, or related technical/sales/industry experience - OR Doctorate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or
related field
OR equivalent experience.
- Multiple years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as pre- or post-sales engineering, support engineering, technical project management or other related roles
- Ability to communicate effectively at a business proficiency level in English and Japanese.
- Ability to travel up to 30% travel throughout APAC to meet with customers, with occasional travel beyond (e.g. USA) for company events
Preferred Qualifications:
- Domain knowledge in one or more of the following:
- Source Control Management (SCM) including Git & GitHub workflows, and the value of DevOps & DevSecOps
- Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) architecture, tools and workflows
- DevSecOps, including software composition and security analysis, SAST/DAST tooling, and common patterns & industry trends
- Artificial Intelligence’s impact on the developer tools space
- Proficiency in Korean Language a plus
