SUMMARY:
We are looking for empathetic, driven Medical Customer Experience Specialists who are passionate about making a meaningful impact. This role is your chance to join a team that prioritizes compassion and efficiency, helping to ease the healthcare journey of our patients.
Your contributions will include managing medical orders, coordinating with healthcare providers, and ensuring our patients have seamless access to the medical equipment they need. This may include activities such as inbound/outbound call handling, verifying insurance coverage, obtaining authorizations, securing and reviewing required documentation, processing orders, completing follow-up and educating referrals and patients on coverage, equipment, and supplies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- WAH requires a quiet location to work away from all distractions – pets, deliveries, family, background noises - during your shift.
- Servicing 80 patients per day talking on the phone, and responding to email and chats in a thorough, accurate, timely and courteous manner, completes outbound follow-up calls as needed.
- Accurately documents patient records; gathering all necessary demographic, medical, insurance and other data as required per policy and procedure.
- Captures payment information, completes insurance verifications and obtains prior authorizations in compliance with reimbursement guidelines, customer rules, and DASCO policy and procedures.
- Accurately and clearly documents all activity in patient records. Maintains privacy of information in compliance with HIPAA and other applicable rules and regulations.
- Secures payment or arranges payment plan whenever the opportunity presents itself.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2+ years' experience with patient data entry into EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system in a healthcare setting
- Outstanding communication skills
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities
- Passion for service
PREFERRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Current or previous CNA license, HHA certification or similar qualification in a related field.
- Call Center experience
- Bilingual abilities (English and Spanish)
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Competence in Windows-based applications.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
Full-time positions are available with normal working hours of Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has no supervisory role.

Designated work area at home.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include both close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
